Today we left Carmel and drove to Eureka, to spend a few days by the redwoods. We stopped in Napa Valley for some wine tasting along the way. When we got a hotel, I realized I hadn't taken any pictures. So, yes, I took a picture of the textured wall. Then I processed it to make it more colorful.



I also took a pictures of the lights. In case the wall texture picture didn't turn out.

Today was Jeff's birthday. We had a nice day. We did some wine tasting out in Carmel Valley. Then we had a nice dinner at a wonderful little restaurant. It was such a nice day. This is a picture of some plant on the deck that I took at some point during the day.

It was a pretty sunset today. This is taken from our private deck at the place we are staying. Very nice to sit there and watch the beautiful sunset.

We are going to stay in Carmel, CA for 3 nights. That will put us here on the night of Jeff's birthday. We got a nice place to stay. It has a private deck and a nice bathroom with a big tub and even a 17 inch flat screen. This is my little mushroom guy, who you might remember from an earlier picture. He made the trip with us. He is standing on the edge of the tub.

Today we drove south to California. This was somewhere we stopped along the way. It was a beautiful day.

Another day at the beach. The waves have been pretty big this trip. We went for another walk on the beach today. The weather wasn’t super, as you can tell from my picture, but I wanted to try and capture a shot of the waves. This was all I could come up with. Still, it was awesome. I love watching big waves crashing on the rocks.

The beach was beautiful today. We went on a nice walk. I love all the rock formations on the beach here. Again, I took this with my point and shoot camera. I didn’t want to lug my big camera (and extra lenses around). We are staying in Bandon again tonight and maybe tomorrow. Then we might head further south.

This was our first day in Bandon. The weather wasn't the greatest and we were still pretty tired from the drive and just trying to unwind and get in vacation mode. Again, in the car I was playing with my point and shoot, this time with the raindrops on the window. Again, this ended up being the only shots I took all day. This one was my favorite, with a little fun processing.

Today, our 2 week vacation officially began when I got off work at 1pm. I am super excited to have this much time off. We are going on a road trip down the coast. No real plans, just going where the world takes us. For our first night we drove all they way down to Bandon, OR. That is quite a drive, but it is so beautiful and we stay at this great place there whenever we go there. While we were driving down, I was playing with my point and shoot camera and all the lights. These are the only pictures I took. I kind of like this one.



(Note: I know I am behind on my project, due to above mentioned vacation. I continued to take pictures, but didn’t process them or upload them. Now, I am playing catch up. I will get there soon, but I took so many pictures that I have a lot to go through.)

Today on my lunch break I met my cousin and her daughter at the park near my house. It was a nice day outside and Shiloh had a lot of fun at the park. She liked the slides a lot. I liked they way her hair looked after she went down the slide.

What can I say? Our little kitten likes apparently likes to sleep in the dog's food bowl. I did tell him that if the dog eats him it is his own fault (she is a sweet dog and would never, in fact, he is more of a bully to her, but he sure is tempting fate). When I was trying to take a picture of this our girl kitty decided to pose with him. Such silly cats.

So, I was just having a little fun and took a bunch of pictures of this little mushroom guy (I got him awhile ago, he had candy inside when I got him). I felt the picture needed something so I grabbed some clouds from a different picture I had taken and this is what I got. Definitely different.

We took a drive today. I was excited to get to take a different kind (and by different I mean, not a flower or a cat or a dog). We managed to find this cool reflection. Had we been there just a minute or two ealier the light would have been even better.



And before we went out I took some photos of the kitten. Processed them all weird because I can.

Our little Nutty! I finally got one of her today. I pounced when I saw that she was relaxin on the bed. She loves sleeping there, like all day. She was cooperative for a little bit today.

Well, I was trying to take a picture of our girl kitty today. She hasn't been my photo of the day for awhile. However, she decided that she did want me to photograph her today and played hard to get. The little dude however, was more than happy to pose. I will get one of her tomorrow.

This is a shot I took with my new Lensbaby. Still playing around with it to get the feel of it. I bought some flowers and did indoor shots so that I could play in a more controled environment (no wind). Though, using a flash with the Lensbaby creates its own challenges.

Happy Birthday Shiloh! Okay, her birthday is actually the 7th, but today, it was her birthday party. We all had lots of fun. There was hide and seek, a 3 legged race, a pinata, pin the tail on the donkey, cakes that looked like hamburgers, ice cream and lots of presents. All the essential ingredients for a good birthday party.

This is Shiloh with the pinata. I don't think she likes to be the center of attention (she is very shy, which is ironic as her name is Shiloh) and, as you can see, she is hiding her face as she hits the pinata.
The pinata eventually lost it's head and spilled out candy and toys for all the kiddies. I think everyone had fun.


And I took a bunch (and I mean a BUNCH more pictues).
