Another daily photo site where I post my images has weekly themes. This week's them is National Pride. I was looking at the red, white and blue flowers in our garden and I had an idea that would fit with the theme. So, I took pictures of the three color of flowers and put this together.

Here is another National Pride image I put together.

And here are some of the original photos I used to make these.

Here is one of our strawberries with just a hint of red on it. I can't wait to eat it!

And one more.

photo of the day

Just a plant with pretty leaves that I planted in couple of our planter boxes. No idea what it is called, but I liked the sun coming through the leaves.

photo of the day

Another shot of the orange flowers. I think they are so pretty and delicate.

And here is a shot of a blue daisy like flower.

Look at the leaves on my giant pumpkin plant just soaking up the sun! I am sure you all are looking at the plant that will produce the winner at this year's Pumpkin Fest. Actually, with a record of 219 pounds, that might be tough. We grew about a 20 pound one last year. I hope to at least break that record and I think we are well on our way to do so. Planted earlier (we got a late start last year), in better soil, in a sunnier spot. Hopefully it works out!

Another flower shot. This time of some orange flowers that I don't think I have used as a photo of the day before. I think they are pretty.

This is a picture of our little girl enjoying some catnip during one of her supervised visits outside. She spends most of the time trying to figure out how to get away from us.

I have been trying to catch her (and her brother when he was with us) eating the catnip for awhile. I have many out of focus and poorly exposed photos. Glad I was finally able to get a decent one.

Here is another one of her during her visit outside. Plotting her escape? I think so.

And a dandelion in the sun... just because.

I took a photo similar to this last week. I wanted to re-take and use it for my photo of the day. So I did. Hope you like it.

6.16.2010

photo of the day

My little girl. Sitting by the window.

And one more.

And now I am finally all caught up with my photo of the day. After we lost our little man last week, I was not very motivated to do anything with my pictures, as I knew I had some unprocessed ones of him. But, I kept taking my pictures. I knew one day I would want to get caught back up.

6.15.2010

Just some red flowers with yellow pansies in the background.

My little brother turned 21 yesterday. We celebrated by going out to dinner (my parents and my brother) tonight. It was a really nice dinner and a really good time. These are some personalized M&M's I ordered for him. I still can't believe he is 21. I also can't believe how old that makes me.

This morning, Shadow, our little boy kitty, was fatally hit by a car. I cannot begin to describe the sadness I feel. We only had him for five months (to the day), but he (and his sister) have impacted my life so much. From the moment I saw him at the humane society I have a connection with that little guy. He was such a character and just lit up the world around him. I miss him so much. We all do. I feel blessed that I got to spend five months with him. The world has lost a truly wonderful kitty.

We went on a drive today, to try to clear our heads and get away from the house, where everything reminded us of him. While we were on Mount Erie, I saw these beautiful yellow flowers.

I miss my little man. He will be in my heart always.

This will be the last photo of my little man in my photo of the day project. The day after this was taken he was fatally struck by a car. We miss him so much.

And one more of him.

Here is a photo of little girl as well. She misses him too.

And some forget-me-nots and other flowers.

We stayed in Winthrop tonight at a wonderful placed called the River Edge's Resort. We have a love 3-bedroom river view chalet. Private hot tub on the deck. Full kitched. 2 bathrooms. It was really a nice time. Definately plan to go back. This is some leaves that hung over the deck.
