2011 photo of the day : day 159

I have been wanting to try focus stacking, due to the fact that close ups with my 180mm macro lens often gives me a very narrow depth of field. Normally I like this and use it artistically, but, something I think it would be nice to have flower photos with a great depth of field. So, basically, focus stacking is where you take multiple picture of the same object, each with part of the object in focus, then have Photoshop blend them together for you. So, I got out my tripod, and tried this with the Gerbera. Definitely will take some practice, but I was happy with the result.
