It rained today. It really rained. It has been awhile since it has really rained. Kind of a nice change of weather. As long as the sun comes back tomorrow!

Just another shot of Pete. Hard to get shots of him because he would much rather play than pose for pictures.

My little kitten again. Took this one without looking through the view finder. He is on the other end of a tissue box (fancy kleenex one that is round). He loves to get inside it (I tore out the top and bottom) and wear it like a little outfit. He cracks me up.

And here is one where he was trying to check out the camera while I was trying to take his picture.

And a shot of what lurks in the Kleenex box.

Spent the day out at my grandparents. It was a very nice day to be out in the county. This is a picture of a flower in one of my grandma's hanging baskets.

And another.

And some of the peaches on the tree.

Pistol Pete is back! We are dog sitting for Pistol Pete again (yes, we just got done dog sitting for BZ not to long ago, but what can I say, my boyfriend can't say NO to these things). You may remember Pete from the last time we dog sat him in May. He has gotten quite a bit bigger since then. And he is a barker. But he is so cute, so I forgive him.

And of course, there are more pictures of Pete.

A close up, very close up, of a dandelion.

And a couple more macros for fun.

Some more forget-me-nots are finally blooming.

We went on a drive today. This is a picture I took at one of our stops.

Another flower shot. Go figure.

And one more just for fun.

We went for a drive today and explored some mountain roads. It was pretty gray and cloudy most of the day, but it did get nice in the afternoon. These were some wild flowers off the side of the road.

photo of the day

Just some pink flowers that were in a vase in my mother's kitchen.

And another that I processed differently (which made the flowers purple).

Another sunflower picture. I am really enjoying photographing the sunflowers.

BZ is still here. He has been digging up all over our yard. And chewing on our solar lights. He is a cute and wonderful dog, but I will be happy when he goes home. It really makes a appreciate our dog. BZ will be heading home Saturday night or Sunday morning. Not to worry though, a week after BZ leaves we will be dog-sitting again. This time Pistol Pete (you may remember a picture of him in my project back in May) will be staying with us. So, I will have another vicitm, I mean subject, for my project soon.

Another entry in my study of sunflowers. This is one that had fallen down (not sure what is happening to them, something is eating the stalks maybe? it is weird) so we cut the flower off and put it in water on the kitchen counter. Took pictures of it today. It was lit by the sun in the window.

More sunflowers! And yes, I know most of the image is blown out. I have a vision in my head of a sunflower picture similar to this, where you can feel the sun shining. I keep trying to take it, but I am not sure I have nailed it yet. Anyway, I like this picture.

Just playing with the sunflowers again.

And a kitty picture. Been trying to get one of the two them together, but that has proved challenging. This is the best I could get.

Look who is back. It is BZ. We are dog-sitting him for the week. Should be interesting. Like having a new victim, I mean subject , for pictures.

And, I took a few more as well....

..okay, maybe it was a lot more!

Look! Another picture of my parent’s cat, Pancho. What can I say? He always poses so nicely. I was at my parent’s house today for a ‘Celebration of Life’ for my grandmother who passed away a couple weeks ago. It was a nice day. It was extremely hot, but considering that she loved that kind of weather, it seemed appropriate. I enjoyed meeting some of her friends and hearing stories about things she had done in her past. Also, for the ceremony I put together a slideshow of images of her. In order to do this I went through many of her photo albums. It was very interesting, especially the older ones. Pictures of her trip across the country in the late 50’s (56 I think) were awesome.

Sunflowers! They are in bloom. I love them. This one was on a very tall stalk, which unfortunately came crashing to the ground just as this started to bloom. However, that did make it much easier to get some close up shots.

And, of course, a few more.

One of the reddish colored sunflowers in our garden. Looking up, into the sun.

Meet BZ! He is a golden retriever and belongs to a friend of ours. We will be dog-sitting him for a week here soon. Today he was over for a 'test run' to make sure everything went okay with our dog and cats. Everything went well so we will have him for a week here shortly.

And some more pictures of him and our dog Molly.
