We got home this evening after driving all day. It was a long drive, and the drive back from a vacation is never as fun as the drive there. It was very nice to see the kitties and dog though. I have missed those guys. So, today, it is a picture of the little dude. I don’t work tomorrow. It will be nice to have a day of rest before going back to work.

Today was a beautiful day. We drove up to Shore Acres State Park. They have a beautiful botanical garden. It was not very crowded at all when we got there. The flowers were beautiful. When we go to the rose garden part , the roses were covered with fine dew, as if someone had misted them specifically for us. I took a lot of pictures today. The view of the ocean from Simpson Reef overlook was amazing as well. The waves were huge. We watched them break over the rocks for quite awhile. When we got back to our place in Bandon, we walked on the beach for the sunset. I think we are headed home tomorrow. Vacation is just about over, which is sad, but it has been a wonderful last day.

As I said, we went to a botanical garden. So, sit back, and get ready for some flower pictures.

And one of the fountain that was in the botanical garden.

And some of the beach.

Another beautiful day at the beach. Went on a nice long walk today. Had lots of fun taking pictures. The clouds and the reflection of the clouds on the wet beach were very pretty.

(I am a bit behind on my project, but I am trying to get caught up. Slowly but surely.)

And of course, I took some more pictures as well.

The sand looked cool.

Last night we stayed in Crescent City, and today we headed north to Bandon, OR. On our way we drove through the redwoods and took a few pictures. My picture of the day is one of my boyfriend standing on the road in the redwoods. I have pictures without him in it, but it just doesn't have the same impact without a sense of scale. I also took some pictures on the beach in Bandon later this evening, that are probably technically better, but I already have beach pictures (and will probably have more) in my project and I really wanted to include the redwoods. So, this is my picture.

Here are some other pictures from the day.

Redwoods without a person. Just doesn't have the same feeling.

Water shots.

The beach.

Little mushroom guy and Jeff were there with me.

Happy October! Only 3 months left, and then I will have completed a whole year of photo of the day. That is crazy thought.

Today we went for a hike down Fern Canyon. Apparently, they shot part of the movie The Lost World (Jurassic Park sequel) here. Basically, you are walking down the creek bed, and let me just say, it didn’t take me long to slip (trying to cross not-so-sturdy log bridges and walking on big rocks) and get my shoes wet. After that it was much easier to walk, as I could just walk down the creek. Jeff lasted almost until we got back, and then he only got one shoe a little wet. The walls of the canyon were lined with ferns. It was really neat looking. Unfortunately, my picture doesn’t really do it justice, but it is the best I got.

And the my little mushroom guy was along for the ride.
