2011 photo of the day : day 105

Another picture of Little Dude in one of his favorite places to sleep. I just look how he looks on this chair.

And one more of him in the bag, which he is still loving.

Today, when I woke up the window and looked outside, do you know what I saw? Snow. That is right. It was snowing. I doubled checked the calendar and it does say April, so I was a bit confused. It didn’t last for long, however, and soon became the good old rain we know and love here in the Western Washington Springs. Jeff is in a bit more pain today, but, overall, the recovery process is still going well. I had fun yesterday taking and processing the picture of the cups in the kitchen. So, today, I went back to the kitchen to see what else I could photograph. I decided to take a picture of my knife holder that I got from my friend Melanie many years ago. I know it is a bit odd, some say morbid, but I think it is funny. And it is always a conversation starter when people come to our house for the first time.

Not too much going on today. I worked and took care of the patient. Though, he didn’t really need too much caring for. He napped for a lot of the day, and overall is doing quite well. Felt like being different today. I took a picture of some cup my parents gave to us as a house warming gift. They go with the fancy espresso machine they got us (one of those Nespresso machines that use the pre-packed little plastic cups of coffee and are super easy to use and clean, which is the only way I could do it. And the espresso tastes delicious and it way cheaper than going to Starbucks or something). I have been enjoying espressos in the morning and for an afternoon pick me up (I am a telecommuter and work from home). Anyway, saw the colorful cups sitting on the counter and decided to take a picture. Then, I played around with the processing of it quite a bit. And this is the result.

Jeff’s surgery went very well. After I got him home and resting comfortably, I saw miss Nutty going in the Macy’s bag. Since the photo of Little Dude in the bag went over so well, I thought it would be cute to get a picture of her in the bag. Unfortunately, by the time I grabbed my camera, Little Dude had gotten up from where he was sleeping to kick Nutty out of ‘his’ bag. He can be such a jerk sometimes. So, today’s picture is a picture of Nutty sitting on the chair.

Jeff has to get back surgery tomorrow (similar to mine, it will also be an outpatient procedure), and since it was a beautiful day, we decided to drive down to Skagit Valley to check out how the tulip fields were looking. We are having a late spring this year, so all the fields were not yet fully in bloom. But it was beautiful just the same. Here is a close up of some pink tulips that were in bloom.

And of course, a few more from the fields.

An one from the side of the road on the way home.
